Position Overview:
We are seeking passionate and detail-oriented individuals to join our team as a User Experience Research (UXR). This unpaid volunteer opportunity. This position is ideal for someone eager to gain hands-on experience in user research while contributing to our mission of supporting autism education and community initiatives.

Responsibilities:
Assist in planning, conducting, and analyzing user research studies, including interviews, surveys, and usability testing sessions.
Compile and organize research findings into actionable insights that inform website design, content strategy, and overall user experience improvements.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including design, development, and marketing, to integrate user feedback into product and service development processes.
Help maintain user research documentation, including research plans, protocols, and participant recruitment materials.
Stay up-to-date with industry trends and best practices in user experience research and advocate for user-centered design principles within the organization.

Requirements

  • Qualifications:

    • Currently enrolled in or recent graduate from a relevant degree program in psychology, sociology, education, or a related field.

    • Strong interest in user experience research, with a passion for understanding user needs and behaviors to support individuals with autism.

    • Basic knowledge of research methods and techniques, such as interviewing, survey design, and usability testing.

    • Excellent analytical and critical thinking skills, with the ability to translate data into actionable insights.

    • Excellent skills in communication and collaboration, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.

    • Experience with research tools and software is a plus (e.g., Qualtrics, UserTesting, Optimal Workshop).

    • Ability to read, write and communicate fluently in Chinese is required.

The Chinese Autism Resources and Empowerment Service (CARES) is a 501(C)3 nonprofit organization based in Seattle, WA.
