Position Overview:
We are seeking passionate and motivated individuals to join our team as a content editor/visual designer. This is an unpaid volunteer opportunity. This position is ideal for someone eager to gain hands-on experience in web design/visual content editor while making a meaningful contribution to our mission of supporting autism education and community initiatives.
Responsibilities:
Collaborate with the Communications and Marketing team to develop and implement website content that effectively communicates our mission and initiatives.
Regularly update website content, including texts, images, and multimedia elements, to keep information current, accurate, relevant, and engaging.
Optimize website performance for speed, accessibility, and search engine visibility.
Monitor website analytics and user feedback to identify areas for improvement and implement solutions accordingly.
Stay up-to-date with industry trends and best practices in web design, usability, and accessibility standards.
Involve in other content designing tasks such as flyer designing, wechat official account/blog editing, and photo/video editing

Requirements

Qualifications:
Had a relevant degree/experience or passion in web design, graphic design, computer science, or a related field.
Passion for autism education and community support, with a strong interest in making a positive impact in this area.
Excellent visual design skills with a keen eye for aesthetics and attention to details.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively convey technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
Ability to read, write and communicate fluently in Chinese is required.

The Chinese Autism Resources and Empowerment Service (CARES) is a 501(C)3 nonprofit organization based in Seattle, WA. At CARES, our commitment is to provide inclusive and culturally sensitive support to Chinese-speaking individuals on the autism spectrum and their families.
